Nicola Mecca is an emerging composer and multi-instrumentalist working across contemporary music, film, and interactive media. Currently pursuing an M.A. in Musicology at the University of Palermo, he has written original music for BBC Radio programs Short Cuts and World Service, with a forthcoming project for Radio Rai. Recent highlights include the sound installation Compost, Composed, presented at the XMTR Festival in St Leonards-on-Sea (UK). Concert works include Si Je Me Souviens Bien for flute and electronics, premiered by Letizia Caspani in San Marino, and Velia, written for members of Spółdzienia Muzyczna in Poland.

As a performer, Nicola plays guitar, saxophone, and electric bass, and has collaborated with artists across genres, from indie-rock band JoyCut to Brazilian MPB singer Ekena. With a background spanning contemporary classical, jazz, and popular music, he has attended workshops and masterclasses with György Kurtág, Tristan Murail, Dai Fujikura, Stefan Prins, Oscar Bianchi, and others—formative encounters that continue to shape his artistic voice.
