Nicola Mecca
Nicola Mecca is the central project for composition, performance, sound art, film sound, and live electronics. It gathers concert works, electroacoustic music, solo and collaborative performance, radio works, live scoring, and research-led sound projects.
The work often begins from unstable materials: breath, noise, silence, resonance, archival fragments, detuned instruments, damaged media, and the physical experience of listening. Across notated music, improvisation, installation, and film sound, the project explores time, memory, decay, unstable tuning, and sound as a bodily event.
Selected areas include chamber and solo works, electroacoustic studies, live electronics, saxophone and prepared guitar performance, radio pieces, and audiovisual projects.
